Meet TJ, who has been a project coordinator at DKY for two years. His positive outlook and collaborative nature make him a valued team member. Learn more about his background below:

Describe your primary responsibilities and day-to-day work at DKY.

My primary responsibilities include assisting our project managers and account managers to keep projects, budgets and timelines moving and on track. At team and resourcing meetings, I capture the minutes to make sure everyone is aligned and to help divide up work evenly across our different creative and production teams.

What are your favorite aspects of working at DKY?

My favorite aspects are working with awesome people, the opportunity to learn about the marketing industry while at a top-notch agency and walking into our slick new office space each day!

How do you live out DKY’s mission: “We help good people build brands of great impact”?

I try to live my life in a way that people know what kind of person I am and who I strive to be. When I work on something, I take pride in that work. I try to come to work each day with a positive mindset and good energy to help myself and my colleagues be productive.

What has been your favorite project at DKY?

So far, my favorite project has been working on the Winnebago Grand National Rally last summer and attending as a guest rather than as an employee!

What trends or changes are you seeing in the marketing industry?

A trend that I am seeing is the importance of digital drivers when it comes to marketing a product or service. Companies are constantly needing to learn and adapt to using new technology features, systems and software services that are being introduced and rolled out to the market.

What advice would you give to a new graduate who is looking to start their marketing career?

Don’t be afraid to toss your hat in the ring early in your career. Send several applications, make phone calls and be confident because you never know who you might meet and what opportunity might fall into your lap if you put yourself out there.

What is one fun fact about yourself?

I’ve been to more countries than different states within the U.S. My dream vacation is to go to Fiji.
