What do you get when you combine a farm industry trade show, agronomy test plots, farm equipment demos and a state fair? The 2017 Farm Progress Show.

DKY joined client ADM at Farm Progress Show (FPS) this year. ADM was one of 600 companies exhibiting at the massive outdoor event attended by over 150,000 people. Held each year in late August, FPS alternates between permanent sites in Decatur, Illinois and Boone, Iowa.

“There’s no substitute for face-to-face interaction with customers,” said Mike Dobies, DKY Partner and Creative Director. “We create brand communication solutions all year round for our clients. But we can’t be effective if we don’t get out of the office and have first-hand knowledge of their business and their customers.”

Dobies joined Brian Dahl, DKY Partner and President, at this year’s show in Decatur. The DKY RV – a 2015 Winnebago Brave – was also along for the trip.

“Having Mike and Brian join us and get direct experience with our business helps us do better work together,” shared Becca Burns, ADM Marketing Manager. “DKY helped us launch an important new product and host a VIP event for a select group of customers at FPS. The shared experience of bringing those projects across the finish line is making us a more effective team.”

Another key benefit of large industry events is the opportunity for relationship building. The DKY RV was also a team player, in that regard. It quickly became a comfortable and productive place to sit down over a cup of coffee.
