DKY is not your typical brand communications agency. Our mascot is a squirrel. We live and thrive in the bold North. We are unassuming and loyal, sometimes to a fault. We are DKY.
At the end of the workday, what makes working at DKY more than a job comes down to two things: People and Purpose. In our Ring True Spotlight Series, you’ll get to know who we are and the purpose that drives us.
Learn more about Lori Sjoquist, who has led the agency’s production services for 28 years.
How does your role help support DKY clients?
By working closely with DKY’s Account and Creative teams to understand our clients’ needs, I am able to efficiently produce and move materials smoothly through our production process.
What has been your most memorable project at DKY?
For one of our very first ad campaigns, we focused on how our client’s motorhomes stacked up against their competition. My task was to outline motorhome photos and make them look like they were “stacked” on top of each other. Evidently, I did a pretty realistic job because customers called saying that it was impossible to put that much weight on the bottom coach and not crush it. Pretty funny.
What is your favorite aspect of working at DKY?
The people. The partners. You can have the greatest product in the world, but it’s the people who make a difference.
DKY is driven by a few core values. Which one is your favorite?
My favorite one is “Spread joy!” Life is hard. It’s the little moments that build up to make great memories.
What advice would you give to a new graduate looking for a marketing job?
There are many aspects to marketing and different ways to go about it. Don’t settle until you find an area that fits you and is part of a supportive team.
What is one fun fact about you?
I grew up in Nebraska and my dad really was THE MILKMAN.
What is your dream vacation?
We’ve hosted exchange students from Sweden and Germany, and I’d like to take my family to see them.
