DKY turned 23 years old on February 16, 2017. Our staff celebrated together with a Crock-Pot-Apolooza. This gastronomical feast included meatballs, chicken lettuce wraps, fajitas, enchilada soup, chili, Spanish rice, mushrooms, cheddar bacon onion potatoes, apple crisp and molten lava chocolate cake to name a few. As expected, work productivity declined in the afternoon hours.

Turning 23 years old as an agency, just like a person, is a good thing. We have a few more years of maturity. We recognize experience is a great teacher. We’ve learned from our mistakes—some more costly than others. We know the value of listening and appreciate the wisdom of humility. It’s simply not possible to be a know-it-all. But we still have energy and passion, and the flexibility to shift when change happens.

We’d like to think we’re entering our prime. Twenty-three years as a small agency means we’ve survived and have grown up. As one DKYer says, “We wear big boy pants now.” We are grateful to be celebrating another year in business. Thank you to all our clients who have helped us get here.

Bonus Info About #23

There have been a few sports legends who proudly wore #23. Not that we’re in their league by any means, but now we can proudly wear #23 too.

NHL Hall of Famer Bob “Le Captaine” Gainey of the Montreal Canadiens won the Selke Trophy as the best defensive forward in hockey four years in a row from 1978 through 1981, five Stanley Cups and the Con Smyth (playoff MVP) award in 1979. (Source TotalProSports.com)
Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg made 10 straight All-Star Games from 1984 through 1993 and won nine Gold Gloves, seven Silver Sluggers, a home run derby in 1990, and the MVP in 1984—which wasn’t even his best season. His best season was probably 1990, when he hit .306/.354/.559 with 40 homers and 30 doubles. Alas, as a Cub he never won a World Series. (Source TotalProSports.com)
Still the greatest #23 ever, Michael Jordan: 6x NBA champ, 6x Finals MVP, 5x league MVP, 9x NBA All-Defensive First Team, and 10X NBA scoring champion. (Source TotalProSports.com)
