DKY honored at Best of NAMA 2024 National Awards for ADM Faces of Food Film Series

Authentic farm stories garner two awards in Kansas City

The ongoing Faces of Food film series, produced by DKY on behalf of ADM, won a First Place and Merit Award in the Best of NAMA 2024 competition.

“It’s an honor for ADM, DKY and AgriLife Studios to be recognized like this by our agri-marketing peers,” says DKY president Brian Dahl who was on hand at the 2024 Agri-Marketing Conference where the awards were presented.

“We are so grateful to our friends at ADM for supporting Faces of Food, and to our production partners at AgriLife Studios for capturing such intimate, powerful footage. Kudos also to DKY’s own Tim McKim for leading the effort to interview and shape so many compelling narratives,” adds DKY Executive Creative Director Mike Dobies.

“But most of all, we want to thank all of the farming families who have opened their doors to us and allowed us to tell their stories.”

DKY’s Brian Dahl (l) and Scott Whitman (r) from AgriLife Studios accept their 2024 Best of NAMA awards.

Faces of Food received a First Prize award in the Audio/Video Feature or Testimonial category and a Merit Award (2nd place) in the Overall PR Program category at the April 24th Best of NAMA awards ceremony in Kansas City.

DKY first qualified for the Best of NAMA national awards after Faces of Food was recognized at the Best of NAMA Region 3 awards ceremony held in January in Des Moines, Iowa.

Launched in 2022, Faces of Food is an ongoing series of authentic stories featuring the voices of farmers from across the country to create a better understanding and appreciation of life on the farm.

Each episode is also accompanied by a feature article providing additional details about each operation and the families that run them.

Faces of Food Season 3, themed “The Next Generation”, launched in March 2024 on National Ag Day with the story of how no-till farming legend Jeff Martin and his sons, Derek and Doug, incorporated unconventional farming practices to improve soil health and make their Mount Pulaski, Illinois operation more resilient. Additional episodes are slated for release in April and May.

Arranged annually by the National Agri-Marketing Association, the Best of NAMA awards program honors the best work in agricultural communications from across the country.
