DKY is seeking a Controller to supervise the agency’s financial and human resources activities. This new fractional position (assuming 20+ hours per week, TBD) will report to the agency’s President. The right candidate will have a strong background in two primary areas: accounting/bookkeeping and HR/benefits. We’re looking for a team player with a warm personality who can step in and take over from our excellent, long-term bookkeeper who is retiring. A training process with the current person will pave the way for a smooth transition.



  • Manage, coordinate, and analyze the operational and financial aspects of the agency
    • Manage efficient, timely, and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes for the company, from data collection, analysis, accounting, and reporting.
  • Handle all bookkeeping details: AR/AP, cash journal, vendors, payroll, etc.
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts for accuracy and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Prepare monthly closing and financial reports: balance sheet and income statements
    • Manage efficient, timely, and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes for the company, from data collection, analysis, accounting, and reporting.
  • Engage with DKY’s CPA for yearend tax preparation and GL adjustments
  • Maintain all accounting records
    • Drive process improvement across all accounting activities including implementation and/or enhancement of tools, systems, and processes.

Human Resources:

  • Manage and administer all matters relating to staff benefits, policies, and procedures
  • Engage with the agency’s third-party benefits advisor to review/assess yearly renewals and assist staff year-round with any enrollments and benefits changes
    • Review, select, implement and oversee the annual employee benefit contracts including coordination of employee enrollment, changes and deletions.
  • Assist, and potentially manage, the hiring new staff: job descriptions, job postings, reviewing applicants, scheduling interviews, completing new hiring documents and orientation procedures, maintaining personnel files
    • Assist with the design and develop of the Agency’s performance evaluation system.
    • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and insure Agency compliance.
    • Annually review and make recommendations to agency management for improvement or changes to the Agency’s policies and procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
    • Ensure Agency compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.



Bachelor’s degree (or relevant training) in finance and/or accounting with 10+ years of bookkeeping/financial management experience. Human Resources management experience. Experience with a marketing/advertising/digital agency a plus, but not mandatory.

Hourly rate based on qualifications and experience. This position has the potential to become full-time with excellent benefits package.
